Research Areas

Speech based technology development for e-learning: This involves work on Speech Attributes and Lexical Expert System based Spoken Item Recognition, Spoken language Acquisition and Prosody modeling.  My achievements during this period is evidenced by a number of publications in reputed Research Journals and Conference Proceedings, organization of major conferences and guidance of Ph D and M Tech Scholars in the areas of:
  1. Speech Attributes and Lexical Expert System based Spoken Item Recognition
Study of segmental and supra segmental aspects of non native (L2) English and native (L1) English.
    Prosody modeling for Bangla
Outcome based Curriculum development with 21st century pedagogy: Since 2009, CET, IIT Kharagpur has been in the forefront of the project “Developing Suitable Pedagogical Methods for Various Classes, Intellectual Calibres and Research in E-learning”, a flagship project under the NMEICT, sponsored by the MHRD. In addition to being the Anchor Institution, IIT Kharagpur developed a collaborative web based tool for developing, monitoring, sharing and administering Outcome-based Curricula. I was responsible for conceiving and successfully implementing this software tool.
