The photovoltaics (PV) industry has always been dominated by silicon-based solar cells. However, silicon PVs are not widely used owing to high production cost. Hence, we need a new generation of cheap, efficient, abundant and promising material. In this regard, perovskite solar cells have shown promising results but the long-term stability of these cells is hindrance for their large scale fabrication. The stability of perovskite is still unexplored and our goal is to design and develop the stable perovskite solar cells.
To achieve this goal, we aim to improve the understanding of the optoelectronic mechanisms responsible for the degradation of various components inside the perovskite device. Our focus will be both on the fundamental studies and the processing of these solar cells in order to control the interfaces between the various layers.
We are looking to collaborate with nationally and internationally leading research groups and industrial partners to ensure the development of this technology.
