Dr. Chandra's areas of research interest are corporate finance (behavioral corporate finance, asset pricing, risk management) and individual decision making under risk and uncertainty (personal finance, risk preferences, irrationality).
He teaches Corporate Finance and Cost & Management Accounting in the MBA program and Investment Management and Taxation of Financial Instruments in the Financial Engineering program at IIT Kharagpur. His current research focuses on the behavioral explanations of investment decision-making, from both individual and institutional perspectives, and how it affects the asset prices and market mechanism.
He has published several papers in journals of national and international repute, and op-ed articles in business dailies. He offers training and consultancy services in the areas of behavioral and personal finance, fintech, and strategic cost management. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Asia Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA).
