I work primarily in the robotics with specific interest in motion and force control. The Motion and Force Control considerations span a range of systems from large scale to meso scale to micro scale and nano scales. Application domains cover autonomous vehicles, vehicle motion, industrial automation, biological motion and materials manipulation. We work on control applications in Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), Safe driving assist systems in transport including EVs and HEVs, Humanoid Robotics, Bionics / robotics for biomedical applications in neuroprosthesis, rehabilitation for upper limbs and in haptics for medical robotics. I also pursue Advanced Design and Manufacturing through Additive Manufacturing for above purposes. Control applications reach out to distributed control using internet technologies - communications, sensor networks and internet of Things. More recently we have initiated micro and nano robotics in materials manipulation and biological including bio engineering applications. I promote innovations for the next generation students to make them acquire advanced skills needed for future and sustainable product development.
Nowadays after being associated with the school of Engineering Entrepreneurship for more than 2 years - I am also eager to see how we can promote innovative product development, entrepreneurship and weath creation from deep and inpact tech areas. This s ishowing new eays to initiating highly useful academic research that can be put to immediate benefits.
