Research Areas

My fundamental research interest lies in contributing to a deeper understanding of the mechanics of motion and deformation of material bodies under applied loads. I employ various mathematical disciplines to model specific structures and solve the governing differential equations to predict the corresponding displacements, stress/strain field, natural frequencies and mode shapes. Till now, my primary research problems were in the area of linear structural dynamics, rotor blades, solid mechanics, micropolar plates and shells, finite element analysis, and uncertainty analysis in random vibrations. Furthermore, I want to put my knowledge to further learning of new techniques and methods in areas of research like nonlinear dynamics, vibration and control, structural health monitoring, energy harvesting and mechanics of metamaterials. In the long term I also want to expand my expertise in these areas through a mixture of fundamental research and experimental studies.
