I have an unparalleled passion for research work. My present research work is primarily in the field of Repairable systems reliability analysis with its applications to Maintenance Engineering in Aerospace Maintenance. The research work in this field is limited to Non Repairable Systems and has plenty of scope for future development. My future plan is to integrate latest and novice Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tools and techniques with the Repairable Systems Reliability Analysis and Maintenance Engineering to emerge with the latest Maintenance Policies for various Industries including Aerospace. I would also like to extend my research work in the field of Risk and Safety Engineering in general and Human Reliability in particular. With my vision and Mission in Research to reduce the gap between the research work and actual Industrial problems, I would like to work upon various Industrial projects and apply my research work to provide workable solutions to Industrial problems.
Towards this objective , as a visiting faculty for two years at Subir Chowdhury School of Quality and Reliability (SCSQR), IIT Kharagpur, I have initiated my proposed research work at an accelerated pace by enrolling two research scholars from Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. The research areas being explored and worked upon are mainly on Reliability Analysis of Aerospace and Mechanical systems. I am presently working on five research papers the two of which are titled as “Reliability Modeling and Analysis of Space Station and Life Support Systems- A Literature Review” and “Literature Review on MCDM Methodologies and Applications for Maintenance”. I have also laid my hands on two books namely " Repairable Systems Reliability Analysis: A Complete Framework" and “Aerospace Reliability and Maintenance Management". As a PI, I am in the process of undertaking a major Research Project titled “A Corporate Reliability Policy for DRDO” sponsored by DRDO.
