I work in the broad area of Reliability Modelling and Analysis, and worked in the following sub-areas, viz., Network Reliability, FMEA/FMECA, Reliability Apportionment; Reliability based Design, Reliability data analysis and Maintenance Models etc. I have devised algorithms for network reliability assessment, proposed a unified framework to evaluate network reliability measures. Besides, we have contributed in fuzzy arithmetic based FMEA/FMECA, Reliability Apportionment techniques and extended the RBDO based approach in the design of EMI shielding/absorber materials. Our contributions have been published in several journals that include IEEE Transactions on reliability, International journal of reliability and system safety, International journal of Performability engineering, International journal of Quality and Reliability management, Journal of Risk and Reliability etc. whereas the conferences include RAMS symposium conducted by IEEE and ISSAT Conference on Reliability and Quality in Design.
As a researcher: The current need of research in my areas of interest is developing reliability assessment methodologies for system with dynamic topology such as communication networks, multi-phase systems or multi-state systems. Most of the problems in these area fall under NP-hard/complete. Besides, the basic tools and techniques such as FMEA or Allocations can also be further improved with the availability of new tools and techniques in mathematical sciences. As a researcher, I want to augment my contribution in this area. I would also like to explore the application of deep/machine learning concepts, Bayesian Belief Network, which appears to be very much emerging and promising application tools in my area of interest. I shall continue guiding PhDs, executing research and consultancy projects and disseminating research outcomes in the journals of repute in the areas of my interest. I intend to achieve this goal by working my way up the ladder with determination and grit while gaining the respect of my coworkers and students.
