Six Ph.D. students have successfully completed the requirements for the degree and received the honour of Doctor of Philosophy from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur under the guidance of the undersigned. During the last few years research students were involved in deep rooted research related to the following areas: a) Geometrically Nonlinear Static And Dynamic Analysis Of Piezoelectric Fiber Reinforced Composite Plates And Shells, b) Experimental And Numerical Characterisation Of Porosity In Secondary Bonded Laminated Composite Joints, c) Nonlinear Static And Dynamic Isogeometric Analysis Of Laminated And Sandwich Composite Plates Under Hygrothermal Environment Using NPSDT, d) Characterization, Prediction And Control Of Fracture In Aerospace Grade Unidirectional CFRP Composite, e) Static, Free Vibration And Thermal Buckling Analysis Of Porous Uni-Directional And Multi-Directional Functionally Graded Plate, f) Experimental And Numerical Characterization Of Woven Fabric Composites Considering Void Defects.

Laboratories related to the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle development, fabrication of aerospace grade laminated fibre reinforced composite and very cold environment chamber integrated with existing UTM; have been developed with help of funding from different projects. These laboratories are equipped with design, fabrication and evaluation of different parameters related to the development and research work.
