- 1. Design and performance augmentation strategies for turbomachines.
2. Experimental and Computational (CFD) study of turbomachines.
3. contra rotating axial flow turbomachines aerodynamics,
4. Electric propulsion
5. Experimental and Computational Fluid mechanics and Heat transfer.
6. Experimental aerodynamics.
I am involved in establishing/ setting up the
Turbomachinery Research facilities at the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Some of the test facilities at the Turbomachinery Research laboratory include:
Low speed, low turbulence wind tunnel,Low speed, low turbulence probe calibration wind tunnel, Low speed compressor/turbine cascade wind tunnel .
Ongoing research :1. Design of development of tandem bladed low speed Axial flow compressor.
2. Development of Probe calibration facility for multi-hole probes.
3. Contra-rotating axial flow turbomachines aerodynamics.
4. Design and development of Sector Annular Cascade tunnel for compressor and turbine annular cascades testing.
5. Performance augmentation stratorgies using passive flow control mechanisms like end wall contouring, tandem configuration, splitter balde, variable tubine nozzle vane concepts etc.
6. Experiental and computational Gas Turbine Blade Cooling using Film cooling concept.
