My research interests are in the area of wireless networks and systems. In particular, I am interested in developing efficient schemes for next generation networks. These primarily would include: improved handoff techniques and cross-layer optimization in wireless networks, user-centric and energy-efficient multimedia transmission, adaptive multimedia multicast and broadcast schemes and technologies, resource allocation in heterogeneous networks, and robust multimedia delivery in MANETs.
My research paradigm involves experimental study, building accurate analytical models, system optimization, balancing trade-offs, and extensive simulation study. I believe the research should be motivated by the real world technological issues and should be focused towards meeting the needs/expectations/preferences of the users and the system while ensuring an efficient and improved performance. In addition to this, the proposed solutions need to be implementable and easily deployable in the ever-evolving and complex real-world network systems.
