Research Areas

My current research comprises of the following key areas,

Crystallographic texture evolution and processing-microstructure-property correlation of materials (metallic and ceramic)

Meso- and micro-scale characterization and modelling of mechanical properties

Microstructure-processing-property correlation in glass and glass-ceramics

In detail, I work in the broad area of “Processing-Structure-Property correlation” of various materials (metallic or ceramic) through the understanding of micro-mechanisms that governs their fundamental mechanical response. More specifically, I study the microstructure and crystallographic texture evolution in materials systems that evolves during processing (e.g. deformation and/or phase transformation in metals or sintering in ceramics) on various length scales (meso- to mirco to nano). Also interesting to me is the interrelation between the final mechanical response of these material to the structure and orientation of its constituents.
