  • Reservoir Characterization
I do my research in the field of hydrocarbon exploration and reservoir characterization using well log and seismic methods. We estimate a number of crucial parameters for reservoir estimations and for field development such as wellbore stability, drilling hazards and production optimization, which are as following below:
a) Reservoir Geomechanics: Pore pressure modelling and over pressure zones identification, In-situ stress magnitude and stress orientation, and rock modulus properties.
b) Petrophysics and Rockphysics: Water saturation estimation, Lithology estimations, porosity and permeability modelling, relationship of P-wave and S-wave velocity with other properties.
c) Seismic attributes and AVO analysis for fluid identifaction and quantification.

We use several non-linear techniques such as Machine Learning techniques, Deep neural network techniques and other simulations methods for the above mentioned studies.
We are also developing a new Petrophysical Lab and lab testing measurement of various parameters of the reservoir rocks such P- and S-wave velcoity in load conditions, Poisson's ratio with other rock modulus properties, and Porosity & Permeability using helium gas.

Recently, we are applying the above mentioned techniques in the conventional oil/gas reservoirs and as well as in the Gas hydrates reservoir. Now, the research will be expanding in the field of Coal & CBM exploration & production, Shale gas reservoir, Geothermal and CO2 sequestrations.
