Research is focussed in the integration of interdisciplinary areas for productivity and safety in surface mines. Specialization in Mining Machinery, Surface Mining and Environmental management is used with advanced tools of Remote Sensing and GIS, Ground Based Interferrometric Synthetic Aperture RADAR and use of commercially available software like Minex, GeoStudio, Matlab, etc. Recently demonstration projects have been implemented for bio-remediation of post mining mine sites as well as sustainable development planning for mine affected areas through CSR projects. Modelling and Prediction of Environmental Noise due to Surface Mining and Quarrying and Solid waste manangement in mines had been always an area of interest. Investigations of coal bed methane and CO2 sequestration was also were successfully completed. Minor research is conducted for application of pedagogy for curriculum development and use of open source software for learning manangement system (LMS)
Research and developmental work are committed to development of applicable solutions to industrial and environmental problems through demopnostration project.
