Research Areas

  • Plant-Microbe Interactions
  • Plant Molecular Biology
  • Signal transduction and gene expression
  • Abiotic Stress in Plants
  • Nutritional Quality
My research interest is the understanding of the plant’s response to various stresses and nutritional deficiencies at molecular level. I work on cell biology, plant molecular biology, gene expression studies as well as promoter characterization to unravel the molecular mechanism of plant stress adaptation. Additionally the biochemical and molecular changes at different growth and developmental stages of the plant are also studied. Functional genomics study is an integral part of our research with the aim to mitigate different abiotic as well as biotic stresses. Along with the transgenic technology, I also work on conventional plant breeding to generate climate resilient crop plants.
