The centre aims at launching both academic and research programs needed to produce future Game changers and leaders in Energy sector in the 21st century through Industry-Academia Synergy and create a platform for Innovation and Training in Petroleum Engineering that can be role model not only to Petroleum Engineering but also to academic programs elsewhere. The centre  aims at launching innovative programmes employing a “convergence” approach that advocates the integration of knowledge, tools and scientific thinking from multiple fields.                The centre offers  Dual Degree B. Tech. (Mechanical/Chemical/Mining) - M. Tech. (Petroleum engineering: five year) / M.Sc. (Geology-Geophysics) - M.Tech. (Petroleum engineering: six year) programs.  The program have industry-immersive internship starting at the early years and will build up in to a senior capstone experience and master’s theses that are relevant to the sponsoring company. A major feature of the program will be to infuse transdisciplinarity between Engineering and Sustainable Development, nurtured through in-depth courses/projects with Humanities-Law and management.       The programme also features exposure to global industrial practices and work environments in the form of internships of adequate duration. Towards this attempt are made to involve national and international industry such as : Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, ONGC, Total etc. and exposure to R&D programmes of international institutions in the area such as: Texas A&M, University of Texas, Austin, University of Oklahoma etc. This would be achieved through collaborative research programmes among faculty as well through M. Tech Projects etc.  The centre has faculty members having vast experience in Reservoir Engineering and simulation, Geomechanics and hydrofracturing, Drilling engineering and drilling fluids, Pertrophysics, Petroleum geology and Sequence/Seismic stratigraphy. Centre also invites applications from qualified masters students to carry out doctoral research in upstream sectors of Petroleum Engineering.   Read less
