  • Graphene oxide -Protein interaction
In our research group we have used picosecond time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), and fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) to probe the structural dynamics of different self-assembled organized systems. Recently adsorption of fluorophores and protein in graphene oxide sheets are studied at a single molecular level via FCS and FLIM. Excited State Intramolecular and Intermolecular Proton Transfer (ESIPT) processes inside various biologically relevant supramolecular assemblies are also monitored. Ultrafast Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) is also investigated to unravel the dynamics and micro-heterogeneity of confined systems. We also involved in synthesizing and characterizing unique class of Surface Active Ionic Liquids (SAILs) and their applications to the formation of ionic liquid in oil microemulsions and vesicles spontaneously. Recently we are setting up a femtosecond fluorescence up-conversion setup to unravel the dynamics in several microheterogeneous and nano-material systems which are not possible through picosecond fluorescence spectroscopy.
